Monday Night Rain on Mill Avenue
It’s truest felt in its first full fury,
yet, its menace once proved,
it can abate,
and its threat will not be forgotten.
Now,
with steps more careful,
from doorway to doorway you may venture,
being sure to stay
beneath an awnings meager shelter
