First Storm
Heaven came down to earth today,
I saw it with my own eyes.
and it was cold ,
and it was wet,
But it had more power, and righteousness
than any empire.
Nothing was clear
but the sound,
and the flashes,
and the earth, stood still,
Waiting,
Demeter for her daughter.
Yes, heaven fell to earth today,
and with it,
spring’s maiden fragrance,
it thought to cleanse us all
and soothe a winter’s aching.
